Notix
Audience

Know who you are emailing, and what they want from you.

Keep contacts in lists with the details that matter to your business, group them with segments that stay up to date, and let each person choose the kinds of email they get.

Contacts

Contact books with your own properties

One book per audience, each with the fields you need and a double opt-in switch.

Import, sync or add by hand

Upload a CSV or paste rows: extra columns become properties, matched to the book's fields. From your app, add one contact or up to 1,000 in a single call, and keep them in step as people sign up and change plan.

  • Properties you can use in emails and in segments
  • Double opt-in per book, with your own confirmation email
  • Contacts are never metered

Segments

Segments that keep themselves up to date

A saved rule on a contact book. Notix works out who matches every time you use it.

Build a rule

Combine conditions on properties, sign-up date, opens and clicks, bounces and where a person is in an automation. Match all or any, with one level of groups.

  • A live count and a preview of the first 25 matches in the console
  • Send a broadcast to a segment, or limit an automation to one
  • Export the matching contacts as CSV

Topics

Let people pick what they hear about

A topic is a kind of email. Contacts switch topics on and off from the link in every broadcast.

A preference page with no login

The unsubscribe link in every broadcast opens a page where the contact switches each public topic on or off, or leaves everything. The signed link is the key, so there is no password to remember.

  • Opt-in topics reach everyone until they switch off
  • Private topics are shown only to the people you put in them
  • A choice follows the person across every list

const { data: topic } = await notix.topics.create({
  name: "Product updates",
  description: "New features, about once a month.",

  visibility: "PUBLIC",
});

// Record a choice the person made in your own app.
await notix.topics.updateContactTopics(contactId, {
  topics: [{ topicId: topic!.id, subscribed: false }],
});
A clean list

Respect every choice, automatically

One suppression list

Hard bounces, complaints and unsubscribes are suppressed for your whole team, from the API, SMTP and broadcasts.

Emails > Suppressions

Double opt-in

Turn it on and new contacts get a confirmation email before they count as subscribed.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is a contact book?
A list of contacts with the properties you choose, such as plan, city or seats. Each book can have double opt-in turned on, its own segments, and you can add contacts by CSV import, the API, a sign-up form or by hand.
Do segments update on their own?
Yes. A segment is a saved rule on one contact book, and Notix works out who matches each time you use it. A contact who changes plan moves in or out without you rebuilding anything.
What can a segment rule look at?
The email address, names, whether the contact is subscribed, when they were added, any property, what they received, opened or clicked, whether they bounced or complained, and where they are in an automation. Match all or any, with one level of groups.
What is a topic?
A kind of email a contact can choose to get, such as Product updates or Weekly tips. An opt-in topic goes to everyone until they switch it off; an opt-out topic goes only to people who switch it on. Send a broadcast to a topic and only the people who want it get it.
Can I switch a topic back on after a contact turned it off?
No. When a contact switches a topic off on their own preference page, that choice is theirs, and the API answers 409 if you try to change it. Unsubscribing from everything always wins over topics.
Do I pay for storing contacts?
No. Contact books, contacts and suppression entries are not metered. You pay for the email you send.

Bring your list and start sending.

Import a CSV, add a segment and send your first broadcast. Contacts are never metered.
